Cannon Fire At The Pitt Street Bridge in the Old Village, Old Mt. Pleasant neighborhood

You may have seen it, but if you did not, you probably heard it…. Cannon Fire at the Pitt Street Bridge in April, 2011 to commemorate the many significant events that took place right here in the Low Country during the Civil War.  If you missed the event, check it out on Youtube.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hn7qcAftceM&feature=related

For more information about upcoming events, visit http://www.sccivilwar.org/ as these events are “some of the hallmarks of the war” and will be commemorated via the Lowcountry Sesquicentennial by the Fort Sumter-Fort Moultrie Historical Trust and its’ partners from December 2010 through April 2015.   The Civil War Sesquicentennial is not a celebration but a commemoration to honor the 620,000 American soldiers, sailors, and mariners who lost their lives during the conflict.

Just gatta love the Old Village, SC events, making Charleston just that much more special!
