The bird seemed to have an Injured wing and was not able to fly. With the help of two Sullivan’s Island Police officers and and box from Andolini’s Pizza, they managed to capture the bird. The bird was quickly taken to the Center for birds of Prey where he will be treated and hopefully released back into the wild.
If you ever find and injured bird of prey, you should immediately call the Bird of Prey Center (843) 971-7474 and not try and approach the bird. The center has trained first responders that will be able to safely capture and transport the bird.
