28th Annual Reindeer Run

This year marks the 28th annual Reindeer Run. The 2018 Reindeer Run starts at 9:00am on Saturday, December 8th near the corner of East Bay and Queen Street.

Presented by Half-Moon Outfitters, the Reindeer Run is a family-oriented, pet-friendly 5k run/walk through the lower peninsula of downtown Charleston, SC.

Proceeds from the Reindeer Run are split between the campaign for the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and the Charitable Society of Charleston. 80% of the funds go to MUSC and 20% go to the Charitable Society of Charleston’s endowment. This endowment provides grants and donations to local non-profit organizations which benefit both children and elderly residents of the Lowcountry.

Such a fun part of this Run is the costume contest! For more information on the Reindeer Run, check out their site here.

If you’re looking to add to our state’s healthy reputation, leverage an expert like Cheyenne Richards with Nutrition Rites. Cheyenne is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who focuses on nutrition counseling for long term results. Happenings Around Town

Some great events are right around the corner, including my fave… the Cooper River Bridge Run!  When you live in the Old Village, you might as well get up and run the bridge.  We all know we cannot sleep through the sounds of the 40,000 people as they start their journey down Coleman Blvd!  See you there!

Shem Creek Park

I find that getting out and exercising during the Dog Days of Summer is less grueling if I have something pretty to look at. There is nothing like a good view to make the time pass! I have thoroughly been enjoying the new access to the Shem Creek Park from the Shem Creek Bridge. It has quickly become the highlight of my runs!
