Major Hats and Suits! Located at 102 Royall Avenue

Our neighborhood holds so many little gems, and I just happened upon one of our best!  I was so happy to meet Mr. Anthony and visit his store, “Major Hats and Suits” located at 102 Royall Avenue (next to the Sweet Shop).

Mr. Anthony starting selling hats 20+ years ago, after attending church one Sunday and realizing the ladies of our community could benefit from a resource to find a variety of new hats!  Ten years later he opened his shop and has been a trusted source for not only the ladies from church, but for such organizations as The Hat Ladies Of Charleston, The Red Hat Ladies, The Hat Divas and more!

And hats are not all he sells, there is a selection of jewelry and men’s and ladies’ suits on hand as well.  If would like a suit not in stock, Anthony can have one delivered in about 4 days.

Open from 10am-7pm Mon-Sat, the store itself is adorable and features a variety of hats in all colors and styles!  Prices are reasonable, ranging from about $40-$100.   I felt like a kid in a candy shop!  Seriously, it is a really fun place, and wearing a hat can add oodles of flair to your outfit!  And let’s face it ladies, what’s not to love about a new hat for Easter or such fun events as The Charleston Cup?  So be sure to pop in and say hi or “like” his page on Facebook.  Mr. Anthony will be happy to help you with the perfect hat for any occasion!

16th Annual Old Village 5K Harbor Run! Sooo Fun!! Nov 14 at 8:30am

My favorite run of the season!  There is no better way to tour the OV, than on foot, and in my case… very, very slowly!  I love this fun run because it is laid back and actually one of the few to welcome dogs and strollers!

The race starts and finishes at Alhambra Hall. And the route is beautiful, as you wind your way down Pitt Street to the Old Bridge.   After the race stay for a while and relax with family and friends enjoying the after party with music and refreshments.  There will be raffles and awards shortly follwing the conclusion of the race.  Awesome!

This year, the Town of Mount Pleasant Recreation Department is once again teaming up with TimingInc.com to help with the race management and event production. Also, the event will have a USATF Certified course with clearly marked mile markers and a clearly marked course.

And who could forget about this year’s featured artist, Tate Nation, who is returning for his 14th year to provide his iconic Old Village prints for the race winners!

Click here to register and I will see you there!
